The Woman Behind the Magic
I was born and raised in Hungary, spent over twenty years in the United States, and in 2019 my journey brought me to Portugal. Each country has shaped me in its own unique way. Hungary gave me strong roots and traditions, America encouraged me to dream big and embrace new opportunities, and Portugal has taught me to slow down, reconnect with nature, and truly appreciate the simple things in life. Together, they have made me the person I am today.
Finding My Spiritual Home
Before starting this new chapter, I spent nearly 30 years working in the catering and hospitality industry. Looking after people, creating memorable experiences, and making others feel welcome became second nature to me. Those values continue to inspire everything I do, whether I'm welcoming someone into my physical shop, hosting an event, or carefully preparing an order for my web-shop.
Today, I live in the beautiful countryside of Setúbal with three wonderful dogs, around twenty curious chickens, and a garden filled with vegetables and fruit trees. Living close to the land has been one of life's greatest gifts. Over the past several years, I've learned to grow my own food, make homemade jams, ferment vegetables, brew kombucha, bake sourdough bread, and embrace a more self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle. These experiences have shaped not only my daily life but also the values behind my business: authenticity, mindfulness, sustainability, and a deep respect for nature.
My spiritual journey has always been close to my heart. Yoga was an important part of my life for many years, and although life has taken me in different directions, its teachings of presence, balance, and gratitude continue to guide me. I love hiking, cooking, creating with my hands, and finding beauty in the little moments that make life meaningful.
My family still lives in Hungary and remains a cherished part of my life. I am also incredibly grateful for my best friend of more than forty years, whose unwavering love, encouragement, and friendship have been one of the greatest blessings throughout my journey.
Why I Created This Space
This shop is a reflection of everything I love—a place where spirituality, nature, creativity, and mindful living come together. Every product is carefully chosen or lovingly handcrafted with the hope of bringing a little more peace, inspiration, and positive energy into your life.
In November 2019, Prakazita Zen-ctuary was born — a sanctuary for those who, like me, are drawn to the sacred in everyday life. A place where handcrafted jewellery, crystals, ritual tools, and esoteric treasures are chosen with intention and offered with love.
Every piece in this shop has passed through my hands and my heart. I select each crystal, craft each jewellery piece, and curate each product with care — because I believe the objects we surround ourselves with carry energy, and you deserve only the best.
Prakazita Zen-ctuary is more than a shop. It is an invitation — to slow down, to reconnect, and to honor the sacred in yourself.

The Story Behind the Name "Prakazita Zen-ctuary"
Prakazita (Pra-ka-ZEE-ta) is a Sanskrit-inspired name meaning enlightened, illuminated, or brought to light.
Every name carries a story, and ours is no exception.
Prakazita was born long before our shop opened its doors in Portugal. It was the name of my jewelry business when I lived in the United States, creating handmade spiritual jewelry inspired by my love of yoga, mindfulness, and personal growth.
While searching for a name that reflected the essence of my work, I was drawn to Sanskrit, an ancient language rich in spiritual meaning. That's when I discovered the word Prakazita, meaning enlightened, illuminated, or brought to light. Although the word happens to contain my name, Zita, this was purely a coincidence (there is no such thing, right?). What truly resonated with me was its beautiful meaning—a reminder of light, awareness, and inner transformation.
When life brought me to Portugal and I opened my physical shop, I knew I wanted to keep the name Prakazita. It had become part of my journey and represented the values I wished to share with others.
As the vision for the shop evolved, I realized I wanted it to be more than just a store. I wanted it to feel like a peaceful refuge—a place where people could slow down, reconnect, and explore spirituality, wellness, and mindful living. The word sanctuary came to mind, but I wanted something with a more personal touch. That's how Zen-ctuary was born: a playful blend of Zen and sanctuary, reflecting the calm, welcoming atmosphere I hoped to create.
Today, Prakazita Zen-ctuary is a space dedicated to light, inspiration, and connection—a place where every visitor is invited to pause, breathe, and discover something meaningful for their journey.
